MINISTRY OF PRETROLEUM RESOURCES

"To All exploration & Production companies

Please be informed that approval has been granted to Mabon Limited/GX Technology, a geophysical consortium to extend the 2005 Nigeria offshore regional 2-D long offset seismic program, otherwise known as the “Nigeria-Span”.

The project entails the construction of a regional basin-ride 2-D seismic framework spanning the Niger Delta shelf and correlating it to deep basin from Niger Delta slope to the eastern Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon and Gabon.

The project is expected to provide data that would give insight into the complex Niger Delta Toe-thrust geology among others. This would be beneficial to the industry, especially in unravelling the challenges of drilling dry holes in the Toe-thrust  zone.

In view of the benefits accruable from the proposed project, you are hereby directed to cooperate with Mabon Limited/GX Technology during the course of the operation."

In this way, NNPC has requested the cooperation of exploration and production companies, including Yorkshire Energy World,
